On Jan 7. 2023, the South-East Asia Center hosted a candidate forum at the Bezazian Library for all 10 candidates running to become the next alderperson of the 48th ward. The forum was moderated by Peter Porr, founder and acting president of the South-East Asia Center.

Co-sponsors included: Apna Ghar, Asian American Chamber of Commerce of Illinois, Chicago Uptown Lions Club, Edgewater Village-Chicago, Furama Restaurant, Hip Sing Association, Honkee Restaurant, Sun Wah BBQ, Tai Nam Market, Voice of the People,  Park to Shop Supermarket.

Election Day is Feb 28. Early voting begins at Broadway Armory on Feb 13. Voting details here.
