CHICAGO, IL (February 9, 2023) - This week, Leni Manaa-Hoppenworth, candidate for Alderwoman of the 48th ward, announced that she received the endorsement of Former U.S. Congresswoman Marie Newman, Former Candidate for Congress and Gun Violence Prevention Advocate Kina Collins, and Chicago NOW PAC.
Former Congresswoman Marie Newman praised Manaa-Hoppenworth's commitment to the community and her passion for serving the people of Chicago: "Leni has an astronomical amount of heart. She understands the community, leads with integrity, and has consistently advocated for progressive policies and transparency in local decision-making. Leni will be a phenomenal alderwoman."
Manaa-Hoppenworth, a small-business owner, prominent community organizer, and a lifelong Chicagoan, has been endorsed by several community leaders and organizations, including Illinois State Representative Theresa Mah, Indivisible IL9 – Andersonville-Edgewater, and Indivisible Illinois.
Kina Collins, a gun violence prevention advocate who previously ran for Congress, said, "Leni is a coalition builder with a track record of uniting our communities to advance a bold, progressive agenda.
